Pipiismus – An Attitude Beyond the Norm
Pipiismus (Pipiism) is more than just an art concept – it is a radical play with expectations, meanings, and aesthetic boundaries. Founded on 09.09.09, Pipiismus unfolds as a rhizomatic network of absurd exaggeration in all directions. Inspired by movements like Fluxus and the Beat Generation, it defies conventional definitions and exists as an attitude beyond the expected.
Initiated by Ali Gharib, Pipiismus manifests in striking, loud, and ironic works that oscillate between disgust, amusement, and surprise. Whether through sculptures, ready-mades, installations, or digital projects – Pipiismus creates new spaces of possibility beyond established conventions.

The Founding of Pipiismus
Pipiismus was founded on 09.09.09 in Cologne. Initially conceived as a collective by Ali Gharib and two other artists, the project quickly underwent a transformation when the two members left after a short time.
As a result, Pipiismus evolved into a fictional collective – an open, fluid movement without fixed boundaries. It exists as an idea, an attitude, and an artistic strategy that constantly reinvents itself and challenges conventional norms.
In 2017, Ali Gharib reformed Pipiismus, expanding it with new design elements. He adapted elements from design, giving Pipiismus a stronger visual presence. This led to the creation of a logo, a temporary homepage, and a participatory online magazine. Additionally, Pipiism now includes a manifesto and thematic blocks that structure its ideas.
Although the new structure is clearly recognizable and understandable, Pipiism continues to evade traditional subdisciplines, remaining an open and fluid movement.
